After more than five decades without a new school building, Marshall, Missouri, embraced a bold vision: converting a historic structure into a modern, inclusive learning environment for 3rd–5th grade students. The project was more than a renovation—it was a cultural shift, blending architectural preservation with future-ready design. With leadership from Incite Design Studio and interiors by Circadia, the school now features flexible spaces, vibrant themes inspired by Missouri’s ecology, and thoughtful details that foster collaboration, autonomy, and well-being. Every element reflects the community’s pride and commitment to creating a space where students and educators feel at home.
Designing for Success and Belonging
Circadia played a pivotal role in shaping interiors that support diverse learning needs. From modular tables and mobile storage to sensory-friendly rooms, the furniture solutions prioritize flexibility, durability, and inclusivity. The design team worked closely with district leaders and families, ensuring the building honored its historical roots while meeting modern educational standards. The result is a campus that sparks engagement, celebrates belonging, and positions Marshall as a model for 21st-century learning. Feedback from teachers, students, and residents underscores the impact: a renewed sense of pride, excitement for learning, and a shared belief in what’s possible when a community invests in its future.
