Behavioral Health Allies

Behavioral Health Allies (BHA) partnered with Circadia and ACI Boland Architects to create a purpose-built academy that reflects its mission of belonging, safety, and dignity for learners with developmental and behavioral challenges. The previous facility, a repurposed call center, lacked the specialized design needed for sensory and behavioral needs. As enrollment grew, BHA secured a new building in late 2023 and collaborated with design and furniture experts to transform it into a calming, secure, and inspiring environment. The project emphasized trauma-informed design, integrating biophilic elements, color-coded wayfinding, and custom graphics to foster focus, comfort, and inclusion.

Circadia played a pivotal role by providing healthcare furniture solutions, managing installation, and ensuring safety through anchored furnishings and improved visibility. The new academy now accommodates over 200 learners—more than double its previous capacity—and promotes a sense of community and calm. Post-installation, Circadia continues to monitor durability and collaborate with manufacturers to maintain high performance. This project exemplifies how thoughtful design and partnership can create spaces that empower every student to thrive, blending aesthetics, functionality, and compassion into a lasting educational environment.
